How do We Do Creative Films rates compare to other video production companies in Bali or Indonesia?
We are not the most expensive, and we certainly are not the cheapest production on the island, however, we are able to maximize any budget and do more with less. Plus, our videos have a unique style. That’s why we stand out from the competitors. For instance, watch THIS one.
Do We Do Creative Films collaborate with others?
Yes! We work with editors, copywriters and actors who aren’t part of our crew. If you have someone you like to work with—say, an editor—just let us know. If you have an existing script or idea, we’re happy to produce it. We’re flexible.

Why do I need a scriptwriter / sound designer / professional actor for this?
It’s all part of the process – we work with a talented crew to ensure the quality of the production is as high as possible in every possible aspect. We’re not just throwing extra costs in to be difficult, we just know that it makes life a lot easier to work with people who specialise in each of their own areas to ensure everything moves smoothly and as efficiently as possible.

How long in advance do I have to book you?
The sooner you book us, the sooner we can get started on your project! However, in reality you’ve really got to book well in advance to ensure that we can block out the time needed to dedicate ourselves to your project. We are in high demand, so we are very busy and we need the time to figure out where we can work you into our schedule with all of the necessary crew involved. We wouldn’t want to disappoint you so that you end up missing your dream deadline day, so as soon as you even START thinking about needed a video, it’s time to reach out!
Is this a fixed-price quote?
Yes. Here at We Do Creative Films, we only charge fixed prices. So you always know upfront what your investment is. It’s our responsibility to ensure that the work is completed in the time we’ve allocated. Unless you ask for additional work beyond our agreement, there’ll be no changes to your budget.
Is it true that videos cost about $1,000 per minute?
Unfortunately, this video equation is way out of date. Back in the 1980s and 1990s, this was a fair estimate for corporate video work because video production was mainly just filming and editing with minimal graphics. But today with the advent of computer editing and special effects as well as motion graphics and 3D animation, the $1,000 per minute is no longer accurate. For instance, a 2-minute promotional video could cost $10,000 or could cost $25,000 or more depending on how complex the concept. We pride ourselves on providing our clients tremendous production value for the dollar, whatever the budget.
Why is video more expensive than photography?
Photography tends to require just a single person to shoot the images and just a few hours to process and deliver them. Video is often produced by a team over multiple days, uses more expensive equipment, preparation time and full edit days. The daily rate is very similar between photography and video, but with the extra days needed, the overall budget will be higher.
I just need a short simple 2:00 video, that’s easy, right?
We get this assumption a lot. A simple 2:00 video could be anything but simple. If you think about it, a movie trailer requires $100 Million to shoot all the footage, edit and produce it into a movie, then cut that down into a 2-minute video. On the other hand, we could set up a single camera angle on someone’s face as they answered a few questions for 2 minutes. Both scenarios are vastly different, but each gives you a 2-minute video. So it’s really about what kind of video you need (see the previous question) that would determine the complexity of what goes into those very important 2 minutes.
How do I get the best price for my video?
Getting the best ROI from your corporate video production starts with creating a budget, communicating clearly what the budget is and shopping for value. If you’re just shopping for a price you might as well hire a teenager and her iPhone. Think of it as shopping for a car, you have an idea of the type of car you want to buy, so being an economy car when you want to buy an SUV is getting a better price. It’s making a compromise no one will be happy with. When purchasing a video start with a budget and a strong idea of what you want and begin the conversation there.
Why are video crew rates broken down into full days and half-days? What if I only need 1 hour?
In our industry, the half-day and full-day rates are standard. On any shoot, our crews put in a considerable amount of time developing a shot list, checking offshoot logistics, preparing equipment, transporting gear and setting up. Every shoot is a 4-hour commitment, minimum.
How much does video production cost?
Of course, this is the number one question asked but unfortunately there just isn’t a one-size-fits-all answer. The simple answer is, it depends, and that’s the truth of it. We will always do our best to work to your budget and deliver the best quality work possible that you are as proud of, as we are. There will never be any hidden costs and you’ll always receive an itemized breakdown from us.
So that you can understand why there isn’t one single answer to this question, here are some factors that determine production costs:
Pre-Production
– The scope of the project
– Project management
– Research
– Scriptwriting
– Concept revisions
– Shoot preparation and planning
– Location scouting
– Talent scouting
Production
– Location
– Timeframe
– Required crew
– Crew time including set up and pack down
– Equipment
– Travel and accommodation
– Hair and makeup
– Costumes and props
Post-Production
– Complexity of video editing
– Music, narration and audio mixing
– Subtitling
– Graphics design and animation
– Licences for music and stock footage
– How many videos we’re delivering
– Optimisation for social media
So, the price varies depending on what you want and the budget you have. We work with such a variety of clients, so we have seen every budget and know how to squeeze the most out of them, working to find a solution together. That’s why we must have a consultation call so that we can gain an understanding of exactly what you need, so we can build up your brief.
Just because we don’t have the price on our site doesn’t mean we are expensive though, so do reach out and see how we can work together.
Are there any hidden fees?
No – this is exactly why we never want to give a one-size-fits-all answer to how much everything costs as this could end up being misleading as the project progresses. Instead, we lay everything out for you with a breakdown of costs so that you can see very clearly why everything costs the way it does. The budget we agree on is what you will spend. If you do want more as we work together, or would like further edits, pricing is always discussed and agreed on beforehand so that no nasty surprises suddenly appear on the final bill.
How do I pay you?
We accept cash payments or bank transfers.
For our Transferwise bank, we can accept EURO, USD and AUD. For IDR to be sent to a local bank which we will provide.
How much will I pay upfront?
For us to begin the video production process, we ask for 50% of the full budget upfront – this covers the costs for us to get the project up and running and it allows us to block out our calendar for you. The other 50% is paid upon video completion. We will send you the final version of our video with our watermark on it – as soon as you are happy and have paid the final half of the payment, we’ll send you over all of your assets.
Storyboarding

We make your video dreams come true. We research, supply, plan and organise everything you may need, from indoor studios and talent sourcing to every stage of the video production, diverse video film strategies including drone work, and post-production editing and animation. Just ask.
Why Do We Need a Storyboard?
Not every production needs a storyboard or “previz” (pre-visualization). However, if your organization is tall, meaning that there are many levels of approvals needed, then a storyboard will save everybody time, money, and headaches. It’s important for everyone to be “singing from the same sheet of music”, and storyboards, or pre-visualization, as it’s sometimes called, is paramount for that purpose. Everyone will understand the vision of the production before the cameras begin to roll.
Storyboards are a perfect way to allow everyone in your organization to see the vision of the Video Director, and the flow plan of the video. The Director will take measurements of the shooting location and map out where the lights, cameras, and other equipment will be placed, which is another huge time and cost saver.
Once the storyboard is complete and uploaded to the website, all stakeholders can view the project and make any necessary changes before approval. After final approval, the Director will shoot each scene based on the storyboard and the Editor will cut each scene to the storyboard. In the end, everyone knows the expectation and results.

Do You Provide Scriptwriting, Or Do We Have To Write The Script?
We offer full scriptwriting and creative development services. Through our creative brief, e-mails, phone calls, and production meetings, we’ll learn about your business. We always advise that our clients be ready to give us as much information and content as can be given we can learn about your business and the factor motivating the video production very well.
Do you have an example script?
We will happily share script templates with you before the writing process so that you can see the best way to format initial scripts.

How large is your crew for filming?
This depends entirely on the project, we staff up based on your needs and requirements.
It may consist of 4-5 people if it’s a shoot consisting of a crew: a Director/Producer, Sound Technician, Production Assistant and a Director of Photography. Sometimes it could be just one person or a crew from 1 filmmaker to 20 videographers, directors and producers. Some other times, additional production personnel such as a Gaffer or Production Coordinator could be added to the production crew.
We will listen to your needs and agree with you on the size of the crew at brief-stage, so you know exactly who’s coming, who you can get in touch with and who you are paying for.
How long do your shoots take?
It varies because every client’s needs are different. But most of our videos are shot over the course of a single day session and others over a couple of days.
Why do we need a professional hair and makeup artist?
If we are producing any video with talents, it’s always a wise choice to involve a professional hair and make-up artist to make sure everyone who will be included in the video looks their absolute best. The make-up and hair specialists are here to eliminate flyaway hair, add some colour to brighten a face, reduce any lingering shine, and a host of other factors.
Who will be directing the video?
Each film will be assigned a director. He/She has been briefed about what needs to be captured from the day.
I just need video footage, no editing necessary
Yes. We can shoot video and hand over the unedited digital files to you.
Can you capture video and stills at the same time?
Yes, we can! Although we don’t use the same equipment or the same team. We also use different lighting for video than we do for photography. What we will do is put a quote together that shares the time between the two resources.
Even though modern cameras and technology allow video to be shot on photographic cameras and image grabs to be created from videos, the principles of the two are very different. In photography, you have a single frame to tell your story and the mindset is to do just that. In the video, you don’t want to tell your story in one frame, you want numerous shots that all work together with different elements that photography doesn’t have – such as sound and music.
As for raw footage
A lot of pre-production work and creative planning can go into a shoot and that work is worth something in the form of the raw footage. If the client wants to use it for another project with us…GREAT…there’s certainly no charge for that. But if they want to take that footage to another entity and cut something different with it, there’s certainly some sort of charge for providing that footage.

How quickly can you get my video made?
We have worked on some truly insane production timelines and delivered amazing results but we don’t recommend it. Usually it takes 4-6 weeks to produce a standard brand video from concept to delivery. This provides enough time for approvals, casting and getting the best people and resources in places.
How much input do you require from us?
On average, we require 2-3 hours of your time over the entire duration of the project. Why? Because we have to learn about your business, your goals and your visions for the video from the best source possible – you! The discovery stage is your time to shine, painting a picture of your dream vision and bouncing ideas between us. It’ll be in this initial stage that we will require the most input from you as we need to learn about your business – although a large portion of this time will be spent doing our own research on your company. For the rest of the production, we handle pretty much everything without needing too much of your time, but we will of course keep checking in on your approval as we progress through each stage.
How long does ‘one production day’ mean?
A typical production day is 8 hours long.
How do I write a good video brief?
Glad you asked! We made a handy brief builder template to help you do just that. It’ll get you thinking about all the things we need to know to make your video awesome – and if you’re not quite ready to build your brief yet, you can also think about these 9 questions in the meantime.
What can cause a delay in final video delivery?
There are two items that often cause significant delays and impact production schedules.
1. The amount of time our clients can take to provide their feedback throughout the production process (script, voice over, storyboard, early animation review and the finished product). Some of our clients have one person in charge of deciding (such as early-stage start-ups or independent business owners), so feedback is provided right away.
2. Other clients have multiple decision points (marketing, executives, peers, and legal), so sign-offs can take longer (often weeks).
Our overall aim is that you are completely satisfied with your final video, so we will work with you throughout the entire process. We’ll advise you of any requests which could introduce a delay or cost to the project.
What does the schedule typically look like?
There is no ‘typical’ shoot day, as no two are ever alike. This a roughly what a full, 10 hour day looks like for a brand video shoot:
• 05:00 – Crew meeting, quick brief, load and leave
• 06:00 – Arrive on location, unload and set up, Stylist and Makeup Artist start working with the models.
• 06:45 – Shoot b-roll/cover footage
• 08:00 – Shoot b-roll/cover footage
• 10:00 – Shoot b-roll/cover footage
• 11:00 – Shoot Stills and Interview
• 12:00 – Lunch
• 13:00 – Arrive at new location, unload and set • up, quick brief
• 13:30 – Shoot b-roll/cover footage
• 14:15 – Shoot b-roll/cover footage
• 15:00 – Shoot Stills and Interview
• 16:00 – Wrap. Break down gear and load into truck. Move back to the studio.
• 17:00 – Transport gear into the equipment room, dump footage (read: transfer digitally recorded video onto a hard drive) and take inventory
• 18:00 – Head Home
Of course, many production days look nothing like this – a commercial shoot, dramatic re-enactments or educational/training program, for instance. We can give you a better sense of what your shoot days might look like once we know a bit about your project.
Will we need an extra day to film a Content Video?
It all depends on how much content you need us to produce. But we know your time is precious and we’ll never waste it – if your content can be filmed in a single day, that’s what we’ll do.
Can you take photos whilst on the shoot?
Our team are also highly experienced photographers and are always happy to capture still images at the same time as video. In some cases, this may involve an additional cost, but this will be made clear upfront in the initial quote.
What's the best method to communicate the vision for the video we need?
Great question! We have you fill out our Project Starter Worksheet to help us implement your vision into the video. We stay up late and talk for hours, pass secret notes back and forth, and sometimes we use smoke signals. Anything to make sure we know exactly what you need.
How do I get started on making my video?
That is a quite simple process! You can get in touch with us through our contact page and we’ll respond to you and answer all your questions.
Why does shooting video take so long?
Shooting quality content is an art. It’s hard, and it takes a lot of time and patience. For example, while shooting Eyes Wide Shut, Stanley Kubrick asked for 97 takes of Tom Cruise walking through a door before he was satisfied!
We like to plan ahead by doing location scouting and putting together a shot list. That way, we know exactly what and how to shoot beforehand. We also haul a ton of gear around with us, which is why our camera dudes are so hunky.
What is involved in the video production process?
Pre-production
Essentially, this is everything that is involved in the work put into planning the video. This includes the Discovery stage where we research your business and study your competition to ensure we have a clear idea of how we can best portray who you are, understanding exactly what you want. Then on the concept development. In this step we create all of the ideas based on your needs and wishes, giving birth to the vision of the video and clearly sharing this with you through scripting and storyboarding. After this, we can start planning everything to ensure the shoot goes smoothly.
Production
This is the moment we are actually shooting on location – getting everything into action and making sure we capture all of the moments that we have already envisioned in the scripts and storyboards!
Post-production
Next up is post-production and delivery. Post-production is everything editing! From the video to motion graphics, colour grading, sound design and voiceovers, subtitling, animations and optimisation for social media. The delivery stage is showing you the video, checking you’re happy and making any last edits and touch-ups.
How long does it take to make a video?
This depends on the project and your deadline – we have succeeded in short time frames but only because we have been able to dedicate ourselves entirely to those at the time. We are highly sought out, so we have to work new projects into our schedule as they come in and when it makes sense to shoot, if we have that leeway, given your deadlines. That’s why the sooner you get in touch, the earlier we can start working together and get your project completed – but the answer to this question really does depend on too many factors to give a one-size-fits-all answer. Instead, book a free consultation call and we’ll see how we can work together.
What should I expect in terms of turnaround times
Every project is different, but we typically complete projects within 4-6 weeks. If your project is simple and straightforward, we’ll finish it closer to the 1 month mark. If it has a lot of graphics, custom music and/or must go through an approval committee, you’re probably looking at 2-3 months. Our schedule is also a factor, so sometimes we’re able to finish projects sooner than normal.
What can I expect on the shoot day?
We like to provide our clients with an info sheet about how to prepare for the shoot day, but once we’re there we take control and let you know exactly what’s needed to make your video look great. There will be a bit of disruption with lots of equipment and sound/lighting considerations, but as long as everyone’s been warned, things usually go off without a hitch. From LCB’s perspective, we like to do a fair few takes to give us plenty of options in the edit suite later, so you’ll get plenty of chances to get it right.
If you’re worried about being in front of the camera, you’re not alone! But a good filmmaker will know how to put you at ease – we recommend practising your script a few times in front of a mirror, and feel free to check out these 7 body language tips to help prepare you too.
What are some tips to get my video as quickly as possible?
We find it can often be a huge benefit if you are able to put together a draft script of what you’d like to communicate to your target market using your business video production. You don’t need to worry about the overall quality,(how it sounds, grammar, length). It provides a great starting point for our team to help you faster and ensure we can include the key marketing messages and explain complex information the right way.
We advise you to schedule time into your calendar for reviewing the script, the voice over, the storyboard, and the video at regular intervals. That way, you won’t forget to provide us feedback on time, and we’ll get you to the final stage as quickly as possible.
Tell us what you like
To help speed up the creative process, it can be incredibly helpful if you’re able to provide examples of the sort of videos you’d like produced.
Simply share a website, youtube or Vimeo/youtube link.
The subject matter doesn’t matter, it’s purely the animation or filming aesthetic and edit style that will give our team a heads start when designing your projects own tailored video style.
Providing a company logo
The majority of videos we produce a call for the inclusion of an animated logo The higher the resolution the better. For the best results please provide an Adobe Illustrator .ai file or .eps file to ensure our talented animators can work with the assets without any quality loss.
Brand Guidelines
When possible it’s great to have a brand guidelines document to work with. This ensures we work with the correct brand colours and company approved fonts from the start. Ensuring your business video production is 100% in line with your company image and other design work.
I have an idea for a video. Will you use my idea or come up with your own?
We’re absolutely happy to work with your idea! We reckon we’re pretty good at helping you shape that idea into the best video possible by letting you know what does and doesn’t work in the medium. If you’re not feeling that inspired, we’re also very happy to come up with a creative direction for you.
Post-production / Editing

If you want a voiceover, we will add one but not every video needs one. We’ll also provide you with a selection of music to choose from and we’ll take care of the rest.

We make your video dreams come true. We research, supply, plan and organise everything you may need, from indoor studios and talent sourcing to every stage of the video production, diverse video film strategies including drone work, and post-production editing and animation. Just ask.
What if I want changes after the video’s been produced?
You will get free two rounds of revision. But since we involve our clients in the conceptual and planning process, we almost never get any requests for modifications. In 98% of cases, our clients love the first version of the video so much that it’s the one they go with.
Our goal is to help you engage your audience. But every platform is different: what works on YouTube or your landing page might not be ideal for Facebook or LinkedIn. At your request, we will provide you with a version of your video that is designed to play well on social media.
How Many Revisions Do I Get?
The approval process at We Do Creative Films is very well structured. As standard, we offer our clients two rounds of amends. The first round is used for feedback on structure, tone etc. and the second round for final tweaks and corrections. So that means you have two (2) opportunities to provide feedback and to make changes with your video. Completed drafts will be shared with you via Dropbox, allowing you to comment directly onto the video for quick and easy communication. If your organisation requires more, we’re happy to factor this into the budget!
create the video of your wildest dreams.
